Junhyeong Park won the Best Student Paper Award at ISAP 2019

Junhyeong Park won the Best Student Paper Award at the 2019 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP 2019).

He proposed a novel technique for micro-drone detection in his paper “Micro-Drone Detection with FMCW Radar Based on Stationary Point Concentration Technique”.

A new record was set by detecting a little finger-sized drone at a height of 100m with an FMCW radar using the SPC technique.

The Stationary Point Concentration (SPC) is a technique to alleviate the leakage signal problem in FMCW radar. It greatly attenuates the phased noise of the leakage signal and significantly lowers the noise layer, thereby improving the SNR of the target signal. By applying the proposed technique, the FMCW radar without any technique successfully detected the signal of micro-drone with a height of 100m.
